Postdoctoral Fellow Computer-aided engineering

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Associate interested in computer-aided engineering under the supervision of Prof. Leifur Leifsson, Prof. Ármann Gylfason, and Prof. Slawomir Koziel at the School of Science and Engineering at Reykjavik University, Iceland. The aim of the research is to improve turbulence modeling for fluid flow simulations using inversion and physics-based surrogate models.

The position is available immediately, until the candidate has been found. The minimum appointment is one year with the possibility of renewal for another year.

A Ph.D. degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, with a good publication record is required. The research work makes extensive use of fluid flow simulations and optimization techniques. A sound understanding and knowledge of computational fluid dynamics modeling is required (using OpenFoam or similar codes), as well as proficiency in programming (such as MATLAB and Python).
